Breaking it Down

Which audio option should I use?
So Connect has all these great options for audio, VoIP, Integrated Audio, Universal Voice. But choosing the right one depends on your situation.

VoIP
If you are delivering a webinar and can be pretty confident that everyone in the audience has speakers or headphones VoIP is a great option. Presenters in the webinar can use the computer microphone to broadcast audio. You can use a teleconference, but there is usually a per minute/per person charge for a teleconference service.

Audio Teleconference
If you are conducting interactive meetings with an audience that changes on a regular basis, like a virtual classroom for training with lots of feedback and comments from your attendees, then you probably want to stick with an audio teleconference service such as Integrated Audio or Universal Voice.

So when would you opt for Integrated Audio over Universal Voice?
First of all, if you have a teleconference service that does NOT integrate with Connect the choice has already been made, use Universal Voice.

If you have a service that integrates with Connect then it’s a matter of aesthetics and functionality. With Integrated Audio you will see the telephone connections displayed in the Attendees pod. If you don’t want to take the time to match these phone numbers up with the attendee’s names and you don’t need to use the meeting room controls to mute or put people on hold then you should go with Universal Voice. Universal Voice gives you the other advantages of teleconference audio like including the audio from the telephone in the recording and being able to broadcast audio without all the clutter of Integrated Audio in the Attendees pod.
